Riding trails in Forstau
If horseback riding is simply part of a perfect vacation for you, Forstau with its over 200 km long network of bridle paths is the ideal vacation destination.
Ideal for beginners is, for example, the Eibenbergweg from the Brandstätthof in the direction of Oberstein to the Brandscharte, through the floodplain forest past the Langeggteich. After about 1 hour you are back at the Brandstätthof. For advanced riders, the Steinwandweg offers particularly beautiful insights into nature as a half-day ride. If you prefer to spend a whole day or even 2 days on horseback, you can ride up to the Fallhausalm or Vögeialm (1 day tour) or further up to the Oberhütte (1,860 m) to spend the night there.
The Silberkarklamm gorge in Ramsau am Dachstein
A special nature experience offers a trip to the Silberkarklamm.
From the parking lot to the Silberkarhütte the walking time is about one hour (150m altitude difference). Over well secured ladders and footbridges you reach the Schleierwasserfall after the Mauthütte: there the gorge opens to the Silberkar. Especially in spring you can marvel at the many rare alpine flowers there.
Nature and environmental trail
With a walking time of about 3-4 hours, the nature and environmental trail offers 18 stations to discover, explore and experience. The highlights are the research station, the forest high seat, the water world, the fantastic Ramsaur lime tree and the forest computer center. The trail is specially designed for children and offers a special experience for the whole family!
